Will this beast replicate its old uncle, the successful Porsche 917 super race-car of the 1970’s?

Meet the new Porsche 919 Hybrid. The racing lab of Porsche’s creative visions. It appears in three different liveries and with one clear mission: creating the sports car of the future.

The Porsche 919 Hybrid is a super sports-prototype racing car constructed by the famous German car manufacturer Porsche for use in the Le Mans Prototype 1-Hybrid (LMP1-H) category of the FIA World Endurance Championship for factory-supported hybrid-powered cars.

The 919 is the first sports-prototype built by Porsche since the RS Spyder, the first Porsche sports-prototype to compete in a top category of sportscar racing since the Porsche 911 GT1-98 and Porsche LMP1-98 and the first sports-prototype to be raced by Porsche as a racing team since the Porsche 911 GT1-98 and Porsche LMP1-98.

The Porsche 919 utilizes a 2.0 L four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a battery-based hybrid system. It’s a new car for its second season with approximately 85%–90% new parts while finally bringing the car’s empty weight (no driver, no fuel) to the 870 kg minimum. It has also moved from the 6MJ subclass to the 8MJ subclass.

This super car made its competitive debut at the 2014 6 Hours of Silverstone, the opening round of the 2014 season.

It’s here, and it’s HUGE. Lexus has rocked the market by revamping its largest sedan, transforming it into a cool and mean sporty sedan, the Lexus LS 500.

This new beast has PERFORMANCE written all over it, with a new 415 horsepower, twin-turbocharged V6 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission! Peak torque is at 442 pound-feet, which will make the LS 500 launch to 60 mph in just about 4.5 seconds.

What holds this new mean sedan engine?

Basically it’s the same global luxury car architecture we already know, similar to the LC 500 sports coupe. Lexus says the rear-wheel drive platform instills more PERFORMANCE and agility in this sedan, than ever before.

As you can see in the video, the car’s front end is pure Lexus. The LS 500 will also be available with an optional 24-inch color head-up display – which according to Lexus – is the largest in the world!

Prices have not yet been announced, but it’s been said that the 2018 Lexus LS 500 will go on sale in the U.S towards the end of 2017.

It has only one single cylinder, and it’s probably one of the smallest bikes that BMW ever produced, but still – it’s the German giant’s most important bike in years. Meet the BMW G310R.

This bike is BMW’s first venture into the sub-500cc streetbike production, and more than that – it is the first BMW model to ever be manufactured outside of Germany!

Where was it made then? In India! Yes guys, a BMW is being now produced in a country that sells 24 millions new bikes each and every year! BMW only sells around 160,000 bikes a year, and hardly any bike ever makes it to India. BMW also hardly sells in China, Thailand or other emerging markets. That’s a huge market made up of billions of customers that could start enjoying a cool beemer.

So what is this new BMW G310R all about?

Well, it’s an affordable entry-level platform that might fuel the aspirations of a broad worldwide audience. It’s lightweight, nicely styled and will definitely appeal to novice riders.

How much will it cost?

According to BMW, the price tag of the BMW G310R will be $4750. For more details go to BMW.

After this first manufacturing experience in India, BMW plans to open a plant also in Brasil. And it’s already clear now, that the BMW G310R will become a substantial basis for new future bikes, all made far away from Germany?

Are we getting a Muscle Hybrid Mustang Soon?

0

hybrid mustangFord Motor Company CEO, Mark Fields, announced it in a live-streamed media event held at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. It was a HUGE bombshell. Ford will finally construct a Hybrid Mustang that will come out in 2020! Not so soon, but soon enough !

The live-streamed media event presented Ford’s electrification and automation plans for the future. Fields said that the Mustang Hybrid will “deliver V8 power and even more low-end torque.”

What do those carefully chosen words tell us? The Mustang Hybrid will probably not be paired with a V8. However, many experts predict that a twin-turbo V6 hybrid will be offered alongside a traditional gasoline powered V8 engine.

The new hybrid Mustang will not be a plug-in car. The only electricity it will use will be what is generated by the car itself and stored in a powerful battery pack.

The new Mustang would not have a substantial all-electric driving range like a plug-in hybrid, but it will most probably use a lot less gas than a similarly powerful non-hybrid Mustang.

hybrid mustangThe Mustang Hybrid will be built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant, and will make its first appearance in North America in 2020.

Ford also announced it will make a number of other hybrid and electric models, including a hybrid version of the popular F-150 pickup and a new all-electric SUV with a fully charged driving range of 300 miles.

Breaking: ALUMINUM-BODIED 2018 Shelby GT500 and next-gen Corvette ZR1 to debut in Detroit next month

0

gt500

The 2018 Shelby GT500 will finally make it’s debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month. The NAIAS, which runs January 8 – January 20, 2017, will also debut the next-gen ZR1 Corvette.

Sources close to Ford claim that the next-gen GT500 will be running an “all-aluminum body, with carbon composite integration, along with active aero” (active aero? GT500? Yes, please). We are also anticipating a 10-speed automatic transmission option, but that has not been confirmed. Further, we are hearing conflicting powerplant rumors. Some sources are claiming a Twin Turbo 5.0 V8, others are claiming a Forced Induction 5.2 FPC motor, which is fine with us.

We will keep this article updated as the news continues to come in.

UPDATE: 2018 Shelby GT500 is coming, could crack 740+ HP w/ Direct-Injection Twin-Turbo EcoBoost 5.0 (Video)

HorsepowerKings.com

The new GT350 and GT350R are currently roaming the streets, but big brother is still coming – and a debut is just around the corner.

Ford Performance is hard at work on the new GT500, according to fresh reports from Detroit. The powerplant could produce “well over the 700HP mark”, all while “breathing through a straw”. Take it for what it’s worth, but we perceive that as a hint towards Forced Induction (low boost from the factory?). We are also hearing that Ford is working ‘very hard’ on Direct-Injection for this new powerplant. Could we see Ford’s first production 5.0 EcoBoost make it’s debut in the 2018 GT500? After all, that’s what the people want. And it’s no secret that Ford has been testing a 5.0 Twin Turbo development mule as recently as a few months ago:

Regardless, we expect this new beast to depart from the highly-discussed Flat Plane Crank 5.2L GT350 motor. Traditionally, the GT350 (and GT350R) has always been aimed towards track use, while the GT500 is more of an earth-rotating, straight line, freeway runner.

As far as power delivery, as you all know, the Hellcat is producing just north of 700HP, so we would be shocked if Ford doesn’t take it one step further.

“Our new SVT Halo Mustang will have more HP than the Hellcat” claims a Ford rep from a recent CNN interview. Hold on to your butts.

If this new behemoth will be a forced induction car, than we can safely assume that Ford will stick with the traditional lobe crankshaft, or at least depart from the 5.2L GT350 platform. The new GT350 if a high compression car, so running boost through it would require quite significant changes.

Another topic worthy of discussion is weight savings. We all know Ford has recently invested heavily in Aluminum materials and tooling, primarily for the new F-150 line – but Ford Performance has also added a heavy dose of weight savings to the new GT350 and GT350R in terms of carbon forged plastic, carbon fiber wheels and aluminum fenders. Could we see a new GT500 with more extreme use of aluminum and carbon fiber? Could we see this car come in at 700+HP and weigh less than 3,600 lbs from the factory?

When can we expect some hard info on this new Ford Performance Halo car? Time will tell, but our sources seem to believe that this car will be released 2018 model year, so we expect a preview in the Summer of 2016, if not sooner. It’s also interesting to note that Ford has already claimed that there will be “12 New, High Performance Vehicles announced”. You can mark the SVT Raptor, Focus RS, GT350 and GT350R off that list – so Ford still has a few more tricks up their sleeve. Stay tuned for more 2018 GT500 news.

Jason Cammisa takes on the rear-wheel drive Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2. This Italian bull is a slightly-less-powerful version of the LP610-4 (all wheel drive). The new 580-2 conveys a more precise driving experience, since the transfer case has been removed (73 lbs) and more attention into the direct front suspension components. Overall, not a bad deal for under $200,000 MSRP (starting).
