0

The 2017 Ford model year roll out is underway, and with that brings us JOB 1 of the 2017 Ford GT. General public, prepare to see Ford’s greatest super car hitting public streets. Although there are still many unknowns about the car (official power, weight, price, etc), it appears that Job 1 is already complete.

Heavyweight Fight: 1,000HP ZR1 vs 1,000HP GT500

Pretty awesome race between two very powerful cars. Both the ZR1 and GT500 make close to 1,000 RWHP, with the GT500 running on a built motor – and the ZR1 running on spray, respectively. Keep in mind that the ZR1 has a pretty significant weight advantage, so let’s see how these cars run side by side…

These are two of America’s heavyweights running at their finest against each other, and it’s impressive to watch.

Watch this Ford GT hit 173 MPH in the 1/2 Mile, and then win the entire event

This 2006 Ford GT was the Winner of Shifts3ctor’s 1/2 Mile Exotic Unlimited Class that took place last month. From a standing start, the Ford supercar ran up to 173 MPH at the 1/2 mile mark. We figure this car could have 215-220 MPH at the mile mark, if he would have stayed in the throttle. This video shows why the Ford GT is such an amazing platform to build off of, and why they have been so dominant in 1/2 and 1 mile speed competitions.

Also, here is a 360 camera view:

Video shows how much faster a Koenigsegg One:1 is to a 997 GT3 RS

Not that the Koenigsegg’s aren’t awesome, but it should be noted that the One:1 is about ten times more expensive than a GT3 RS, so it would be pretty disappointing if it didn’t absolutely handle it on the track. Regardless, the video above shows off the raw, turbo-induced speed of the One:1. Enjoy.

Flat Out in the 2016 Subaru WRX STI at the Isle of Man TT

Watch Mark Higgins pilot the 2016 Subaru WRX STI around the Isle of Mann course. Notice how he takes Bray Hill at 170 MPH! This is the pinnacle of driving on the edge, and it looks like a blast. As you know, Subaru runs this incredibly fast course once a year during the Isle of Man speed weeks, and this year’s run was certainly no disappointment. Enjoy!

Absolutely amazing. Check out this ’94 Ford Bronco, which has a full 2013 SVT Raptor conversion – complete with the long travel suspension, 6.2L V8 (and drivetrain), and full interior swap.

This is one of the most impressive swaps we have ever seen. We just wish OJ had something like this to escape with.

Kawasaki Ninja H2 vs. State Trooper

0

Watch this supercharged Kawasaki Ninja H2 roll into the throttle and pull away from this State Trooper. It’s hard to tell in the video how much distance the bike creates between him and the State Trooper, but the rabbit was gone in no time. As you know, the new H2 is factory-supercharged and make about 200HP. And by the way, why are all those cars parked on the freeway?

RESULTS LEAKED: 2015 Camaro Z/28 beats the 2016 GT350R by almost a second during the Car & Driver Lightning Lap competition.

The results of the 2016 Car & Driver Lightning Lap competition has been released, and it appears the 2015 Camaro Z28 beat out the 2016 GT350R by almost a full second at the famed Virginia International Raceway. Straight to the point: This year, 2016 GT350R clocked a time of 2:51.8. During last year’s competition, the 2015 Z/28 ran the lap in just 2:50.9. That’s almost a full second separation. To be fair, these cars ran these laps almost a full year apart, but both were run in the late summer time with comparable weather conditions. Further, the Z28 could be had for just about half the cost of a new GT350R, if you factor in Ford’s dealer markups and Chevy’s dealer incentives to get the Z/28’s off the lot last year. (Z/28’s could be had for low-$50,000’s)

Here are the times from the 2015 Lightning Lap competition (same track, same time of year):

Doug DeMuro Explains Why The Ford GT Is Worth $400,000

0

The 2005 and 2006 Ford GT are already timeless American icons. As Mr. DeMuro mentions in the video above, a new one – in 2005 – would run you about $150,000. Now, in 2016, a low-mileage 05/06 Ford GT is commanding upwards of $400,000. How ironic that Ford had trouble selling these cars ten years ago, and now they exist in realm of only the affluent and elite. In our humble opinion, these cars are worth every penny of that $400,000, and Doug DeMuro explains why, above.

This Guy Drove a Ferrari Race Car On the Street, and He Hated It

YouTube car reviewer Doug DeMuro shows us the difficulties of driving a F430 Challenge on the street. Obviously, the F430 Challenge is a purpose-built factory race car, but DeMuro shows us just have far the Italian genetic code has strayed from the street variations of the F430.

Personally, we’d still try to drive one on the street if we could.
