Introducing a new SCARY MONSTER: The Vengeance WB12

[embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjJFcL57G2Y[/embedyt]

As you remember last year, the original Vengeance had quite a successful launch in the 2016 Geneva Motor show. This year we had Kahn Design debut a new convertible called the Vengeance Volante, or Vengeance WB12.

Do you know what the name stands for? Well, like most car giants, Aston Martin has its own naming strategy, and Volante stands for the convertibles.

Similar to its predecessor, the WB12 is build on Aston Martin’s lightweight and powerful VH platform. This beast, which is manufactured in the UK, was inspired from the classic Aston Martin designs of the late 20th century, bringing back the cabriolet hood and keeping the cool widened C-pillars and wings. This beauty is equipped with a 6.0-liter V-12 engine rated at 503 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque.

If you are a fan of the Volante heritage, you will immediately recognize the well designed crosshair exhaust system, the cool rear lighting, and the amazing wheels.

“Creating a convertible version of the Vengeance posed some challenges, given the unique coach built nature of the vehicle, but we’ve overcome them in true British fashion” Afzal Kahn said.

The Vengeance WB12 interior provides handcrafted black leather on all seats and custom door panels, while the steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara.

The DB9 will need around 4.5 seconds to hit 60 mph, and will go up to 183 mph top speed. No details yet about how much this beast will cost, but we’ll keep you posted…

THE CRAZY DODGE VIPER IS DEAD

[embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iS2HVVVeS4[/embedyt]This car is probably one of the most extreme sports cars ever built. It’s definitely the most extreme car in American automotive history. And now – after almost 30 years and 30,000 units with a beastly V10 engine – Chrysler is winding down the production in Detroit.

The Dodge Viper was conceived back in the late 80’s by sports car legend and Chrysler executive, Bob Lutz. All he wanted to do was kick-start a dying Car giant, so he and his team came up with a 400-horsepower concept, named Viper RT10. This first concept was built from just corporate parts-bin components, but to differentiate the beast, Lutz equipped it with a huge and unique V10 engine. At first, the giant engine was too heavy to install, so they gave it to Lamborghini (which was owned by Chrysler at the time) – who re-engineered it, made it out of aluminum, which lowered the weight immensely.

But it wasn’t enough, so they installed hubs and axles from Dodge’s pickup trucks (these use six-lug wheels and hubs!), which were the only ones strong enough for the car’s extreme power.

Back then, the Dodge Viper was a unique drop-top sports car that mimicked the classic Shelby Cobra. It hardly had any competition.

Two years after it was launched, Chrysler came up with a genius Marketing campaign. It produced an action TV series featuring special agents fighting crime in California, whose main weapon was a Viper Defender, James Bond style. The TV-Series Viper was equipped with all sorts of high-tech weapons, rocket launchers, stingers, torpedoes and even anti-missiles systems. The Viper was a STAR !

Today, powerful two-seat sports cars are quite common, and the competition is fierce. Chrysler just couldn’t afford it.

We’ll miss you, Dodge Viper…

Tesla’s Model S P100D is the fastest production car on the planet, with a staggering 2.28 seconds record for the 0-60 mph test.

Even the celebrity CEO, Elon Musk tweeted about the world record last week.

MotorTrend took the electric Tesla monster to the track, and concluded: “Tesla Model S P100D does it best, reaching 30, 40, 50, and 60 mph from a standstill more quickly than any other production vehicle we’ve ever tested, full stop. In our testing, no production car has ever cracked 2.3 seconds from 0 to 60 mph. But Tesla has, in 2.275507139 seconds.”

The “Ludicrous mode” was enabled by Tesla in it’s P100D acceleration earlier this year.

Breaking: Mercedes unveils its 2018 E63 S Wagon. It’s a Monster!

[embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wtINmdh318[/embedyt]

Similar to the E63 S sedan, the 2018 E63 S wagon takes its 603 Horsepower from a 4.0-liter V-8 with a pair of turbochargers and 627 axle-twisting pound-feet of torque. This awesome power flows  through Mercedes’ AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed automatic transmission to all four.

So what can this monster wagon deliver? A massive 0 to 60 mph time of 3.4 seconds! It’s top speed is limited to 180 mph, but heck – it’s a wagon!

The E63 S wagon has five drive modes: Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Race, and Individual. These modes control the responses of the engine, transmission, suspension, steering, stability control, and all-wheel-drive system. This wagon has an M mode as well, for manual shifting through steering wheel paddles. The brand’s Drive Pilot semi-autonomous driving technology is also standard.

The rear axle has been redesigned to handle the power and improved dynamics of the wagon, and there are plenty of perks underneath. The steering is electromechanical. The brakes are internally ventilated and perforated 15.4-inch rotors up up front, and 14.2-inch rotors in the rear. Carbon composite brakes with 15.8-inch front rotors will be optional.

If you think you’re looking at a jet wing – then you’re right. The front bumper design of the E63 S wagon was actually inspired by a jet wing, while the front end is marked by a large front splitter.

Inside the monster wagon, we find sport seats at the front, Nappa leather trim on the dashboard and beltlines, and a wonderful AMG Performance steering wheel covered in black Nappa leather with a gray 12 o’clock marker. COOL !

What about storage? The E63 S wagon has 35 cubic feet of storage space with the rear seats up. If you require more – the rear seat can be moved 10 degrees further upright to add a bit more storage space.

So how much will this fabulous wagon cost? Prices haven’t been announced yet, but we’re probably looking at more than $100,000.

WATCH Ford’s Video Showing the 2018 Mustang exterior changes

Just a few weeks ago Ford presented the updated 2018 Mustang coupe, and then released some info on the 2018 Mustang convertible. The super car giant now created a super cool video illustrating the changes made to the Mustang’s exterior.

The video presents a silver 2017 Mustang and then uses a slider effect to overlay a maroon 2018 model on top of it.

You can also see that the grille and hood are lower, and the lower front air intake flares out instead of in. Also, the outer air intakes are reshaped. All of the front lighting also has been changed to LEDs across the lineup.

More subtle changes are at the rear, where the taillights are now also LEDs and their shape has been made a bit more complex. The bumper and rear fascia have changed as well.

Ford has also announced that the new Mustang will get three new paint colors and 12 wheel designs, and claims that the 2018 model is the most advanced Mustang ever.

We’re now waiting for the interior changes video…J

MUST WATCH ! 2017 Shelby Super Snake: The 50th Anniversary

[embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3oY-jnPwN4[/embedyt]

Back in 1967, Carroll Shelby took the amazingly courageous step and introduced the GT500, the first big block Shelby GT, powered by a modified Police Interceptor 428 CI engine rated at 355 HP. The new Shelby Super Snake car outsold its small block GT350 stable-mate 2,048 to 1,175 units. During those times, Shelby was the West Coast distributor for Goodyear, who in February 1967 asked Shelby to take part in a promotional event for their new Thunderbolt line of economy tires. Shelby predicted that the GT500 would be the perfect choice for an extended high-speed demonstration of the new tire, but the decision took a twist when former Shelby American sales manager Don McCain came up with the idea of building a supercar that would outperform anything else in the world.

2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo GT500: Is a Turbocharged 2-Liter 4-Cylinder enough?

0

[embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAkfQzhJYTA[/embedyt]

Since 2008, the Nissan GT-R brought the company five championship triumphs in 9 years! That’s quite impressive. But, in 2016 the Nissan GT-R was defeated by Lexus’s RC F-based GT500 race car. Nissan vowed to win again in 2017, so it modified its Nismo-built race-machine GT-R.

The existing GT-R, called also the R35, was unveiled back in 2007, as the proud successor to the R34. The 2007 version was a total re-make and set some significant new benchmarks for the GR-R series. Among others, it was the first GT-R to use a V-6 engine. As 2017 arrived, the R35 was 10 years of age, and was in need of an urgent re-design.

It might not seem much different from last year’s car at first glance, but a closer look reveals some major changes in the aerodynamics department. Due to the new regulations for 2017, which include a 25-percent reduction in total downforce on all GT500 cars, Nissan was forced to change last year’s aero package. The most visible change is in the bumper section, where the splitter is much shorter, while the outer intakes are a little wider. The side canards have been revised as well, and are now sporting winglets of their own. Also the main grille has a new design, and is now quite identical to the V-shaped element on the road car.

While the GT-R road car is equipped with a twin-turbo, 3.8-liter V-6 with close to 600 horsepower, the GT-R GT500 runs a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Will that be enough to fulfill it’s wish to win again in 2017?

Well, there’s not a lot of data out there yet, but the 2.0-liter engine should have that old beasty force, as other GT500 cars are known to produce, with more than 600 horsepower. We don’t think this car will lack any performance. The 2017 Super GT Series is scheduled to begin in April. Time will tell if the Nissan GT-R will win again…

2017 Mustang Rocket at $120,000 ?

[embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxtIJWCuXIg[/embedyt]

Remember the 725-horsepower muscle car they called Galpin Rocket? Many just call it the Mustang Rocket. It was based on the sixth-generation Ford Mustang, co-designed by Galpin Auto Sports and Henrik Fisker. Back in 2014, this super-car became a hit.

You can still get that 2014 Mustang Rocket, which is being manufactured by VLF, the Michigan-based car manufacturer founded by Bob Lutz and Gilbert Villarreal. .

2017 has arrived, and a new Mustang Rocket will soon arrive with it. This new beast will be called VLF Rocket V8.

Mustang Rocket

Where will it get it’s 725-horsepower libido?

Well, that will come from a supercharged upgrade to the Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V-8, and a huge range of bodywork upgrades as well. You might see some similarities to the styling of the 1968 Shelby GT500. The new Mustang Rocket will be made of fully modern materials, including carbon fiber bodywork.

The new Rocket’s lines emerges from the front, through its long hood, over a set of flared fenders and converge on its integrated rear spoiler. The beautiful carbon-fiber body is constructed by renowned car builder, Metalcrafters. The Rocket V8 will sit on 21″ wheels wrapped in Pirelli extreme performance tires.

According to VLF, the starting price of this super-car will be around $120,000. If you opt for the standard – you’ll get a six-speed manual, while an automatic gearbox will be an option. The standard Monotube coilovers will feature adjustable rebound. Buyers will be able to spec optional Brembo brakes for better stopping power, if they want to.

Buyers will also be able to get a coupe like the original Mustang Rocket at the LA Auto Show (back in 2014!) or opt for a convertible. VLF is already taking orders from interested buyers, if you’re interested. However, the VLF Rocket is currently being exclusively distributed in California by Galpin Auto Sports and VLF Automotive will be appointing soon additional dealers in the US outside California, and rest of the world.
