Are we getting a Muscle Hybrid Mustang Soon?

hybrid mustangFord Motor Company CEO, Mark Fields, announced it in a live-streamed media event held at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. It was a HUGE bombshell. Ford will finally construct a Hybrid Mustang that will come out in 2020! Not so soon, but soon enough !

The live-streamed media event presented Ford’s electrification and automation plans for the future. Fields said that the Mustang Hybrid will “deliver V8 power and even more low-end torque.”

What do those carefully chosen words tell us? The Mustang Hybrid will probably not be paired with a V8. However, many experts predict that a twin-turbo V6 hybrid will be offered alongside a traditional gasoline powered V8 engine.

The new hybrid Mustang will not be a plug-in car. The only electricity it will use will be what is generated by the car itself and stored in a powerful battery pack.

The new Mustang would not have a substantial all-electric driving range like a plug-in hybrid, but it will most probably use a lot less gas than a similarly powerful non-hybrid Mustang.

Ford also announced it will make a number of other hybrid and electric models, including a hybrid version of the popular F-150 pickup and a new all-electric SUV with a fully charged driving range of 300 miles.
