Yea, this new Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe R is one beautiful machine, and it backs up it’s looks with 550 HP.
Challenger SRT Hellcat 6-speed Manual POV Drive (w/ video)
The Winding Road has taken several POV videos of them driving the new SRT Hellcat 6-Speed, and uploaded it for all of us who are somehow still thirsting for more news of this car – regardless of how saturated the internet is with ‘Hellcat’ lately.
From our observation, this car acts very nimble despite it’s 4,400 lb curb weight. The SRT Hellcat also looks very athletic to us, and it’s sprint speed its backed up by a 707 HP Supercharged Hemi.
Dodge is working on a Hellcat Charger for 2015
Move over, BMW M5 and Mercedes AMG: Chrysler is about to build the world’s highest horsepower production sedan.
Road & Track recently confirmed that Chrysler is in fact moving foward with Hellcat-izing the 2015 Charger, and they even have hard proof.
According to Road & Track, Chrysler recently submitted the Hellcat for engine power certification to the SAE, and Chrysler included the Charger on the paperwork. This basically proves that they wanted the engine checked out for the Charger as well. . R&T makes the claim that the 707-hp Charger will be in dealerships about a year from now, making the Challenger the exclusive Hellcat car, atleast initially.
This Charger will be the world’s highest horsepower production sedan. As we all know, however – high HP doesn’t necessarily equal great performance. Time will tell though.
Here at HorsepowerKings, we are really hoping to see the Hellcat motor make it’s way to the SRT Cherokee – but we especially hope to see in the 2015 300C SRT8. What car would you like to see the Hellcat motor squeeze into?
2015 Mustang, F-35 Lightning II style
Even though the F-35s in real life are currently grounded, this is interesting because it really exemplifies how aggressive the new Mustang can look with appropriate visual modifications:
F-35 Lightning II Edition 2015 Mustang
“For the seventh consecutive year, Ford will create and donate a unique Ford Mustang to be sold, via auction, at the Gathering of Eagles charity event to support the EAA Young Eagles program. This year, the Ford Design and Engineering teams created the 2015 F-35 Lightning II Edition Mustang GT. The car was specially built for AirVenture, drawing inspiration from the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II aircraft, which represents the pinnacle of more than 50 years of fighter technology. The nonprofit EAA Young Eagles has provided free introductory flights to more than 1.8 million young people since 1992, helping inspire and motivate the next generation of leaders, aviators and innovators.
The one-of-a-kind F-35 Lightning II Edition Mustang will be one of the first salable all-new 2015 Ford Mustangs. The design of the modified 2015 Mustang GT 5.0-liter Fastback exudes a creative connection to the F-35 Lightning II joint forces strike fighter, while highlighting the design features of the new Mustang. Ford Design Manager Melvin Betancourt and Mustang Chief Engineer Dave Pericak led the respective teams.
The exterior will showcase a customized glossy and matte titanium paint scheme with distinctive F-35 Lightning II aircraft accents, with a carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser and rocker moldings added. The interior will include performance gauges, modified instrument clusters, Recaro seats and embroidered F-35 Lightning II elements in the seats and floor mats, among other distinctive design elements.”
This LS1 C5 Corvette makes for one mean-sounding rally car
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnFYxw93TFk
Them Duke boys are at it again.
Like a scene from Hazzard county, this C5 turns back roads into a playground. Who would have thought that a C5 Corvette in the dirt could look and sound so cool? This old pushrod LS1 still sounds amazing, but this is a terrible way to treat a Corvette – count us in! Besides, fiberglass is cheap to fix, and C5’s are a dime a dozen.
Here is to hoping the LS1 in this ‘Vette is about to be transplanted to in another car and this guy is just trying to get the last few drops of juice out of the chassis.
Two guys take a Ford Focus ST on a top speed run at Bonneville Salt Flats (w/ videos)
Well it doesn’t look very stable at those speeds. See the car shifting side to side in the salt at over 100MPH? Regardless, this guy keeps his foot in the throttle and runs the turbocharged Focus RS all the way up to 141 MPH, according to on-board GPS.
It’s interesting to note that although the Focus ST will do over 150MPH stock, the car is working extra hard in that soft salt. We are impressed that it even reached 143.
Here is a different angle, different run of the same car hitting 143 MPH:
2016 SVT Mustang GT350 rendered
Well, here it is – the 2016 Mustang GT350, at least a render it. The digital work of art at the top of the screen was done by Rampant Renders, and the second photo was done by none other than Gurnade. We are undecided on the new front fascia that Ford is going after, as evident in the prototype photos/videos from last week, but Ford always has a way of making the high performance Mustangs look good once they are revealed to the public.
This render should give us a good idea of what we are going to see though. As for what’s under the hood – the leading speculation is that we will see a 5.0 or 5.2 N/A with a flat plane crank. This car is expected to be a track warrior – more of a Boss 302 replacement than a GT500 successor.
With that said, we do have reason to believe that Ford is also working on a true SVT Cobra successor, which would be a separate model from the GT350.
Lexus is developing a Twin-Turbo 600-Horsepower, LF-LC Coupe
According to Motor Trend, Lexus is about to step up their game with a 600 HP, Twin Turbo powered LF-LC Coupe:
“Word on the Tokyo street is that there’s a Lexus LF-LC Coupe mule running around Japan packing a 600-hp twin-turbo version of the upcoming RC F’s 5.0-liter V-8. That power rating may be on the conservative side. We heard back in March of 2013 that Lexus was overwhelmed by the positive response to the swoopy coupe and decided to go on and green-light it. Until now there has been little to no information on the striking concept, other than the fact that the production version will most likely be called SC. There still isn’t much, but our sources confirm the monstrous twin-turbo V-8 will be the SC F. There’s a potent hybrid LF-LC/SC H whose powertrain will probably be the fruits of the BMW joint project and make around 500 hp. There will be a third engine, a base naturally aspirated V-8, that will produce a bit less power than the hybrid (450 hp) but get worse fuel economy.”
We love the direction that Lexus is headed with their ‘F Sport’ division. They kicked things off in 2008 with their 5.0 V8 powered IS F, and they have been inching towards the likes of AMG and M-Sport ever since.
These latest rumors about the 600-HP coupe are also backed up by the fact that Toyota Motorsports in Germany has already built a twin-turbo 5.0L V8 engine and installed it in an LS460 — this car was well over 640 HP and reached a maximum speed of 200-MPH.

Would you rather: 2014 Shelby GT500 vs 2014 Camaro ZL1
Mustang vs. Camaro. These two cars have been the cutting edge of the Muscle Car wars since 1967.
For 2014, Ford’s flagship land rocket comes in with a 5.8L, Supercharged V8 with 662 HP, while the ZL1 steps in with a 6.2L, Supercharged V8 with 580 HP. Both cars can be owned for just under $60k.
The GT500 may be quicker in a straight line, but thanks to electromagnetic coils, the ZL1 is quicker around the track.
Which is the more superior car? Which is the more complete car?

Guy takes neighbor for ride in 700rwhp GT500, hilarity ensues
Now this is a great video. JD takes his neighbor Dave out for a spin in his 2008 GT500 which makes 683RWHP. Apparently, Dave has never been in Mustang before, much less a high powered GT500. Watch as Dave struggles to keep the seat belt from strangling him to death, all while maintaining his reputation. The GT500 sounds amazing, by the way. Enjoy.
For reference, here is a video of the same 2008 GT500 putting out for us on the dyno:
