Is the upcoming GT350 just a precursor to a bigger, badder SVT Cobra in 2017?  Earlier, we reported how Ford’s latest GT350 track star was caught testing at the Nurburgring, but the rumors still abide of a true SVT Cobra successor.

Could Ford be planning on a 2017 model year release for this SVT Cobra?  Is it realistic to think that Ford may be developing this SVT Cobra with an all aluminum body with carbon fiber panels?

Considering Ford’s recent multi-billion dollar investment in aluminum materials and tooling in these last few years, rumors are already flowing about an all aluminum 2016 F250/F350 – and Ford has already discussed that the next Explorer and Expedition ‘refresh’ will include aluminum body panels.  With discussion still circulating recently regarding Ford’s comment to CNN about a 750 HP SVT Cobra successor, let’s hope that this upcoming GT350 is only the first of a line of high performance Mustangs to come out of the SVT factory.

Until then, the SRT Hellcat will remain king of the horsepower mountain.
