The new 2015 Mercedes S-Class is completely mind blowing. Not only does Mercedes deliver on the high expectations expected out of the new S-Class sedan, it does so with jaw-dropping lavishness.
For example, you can select your own custom fragrance to be cycled strategically through the HVAC system, or you set the car to drive on ‘autopilot’ and it will cruise comfortably at 75 MPH on the freeway without any input from the driver.
Of course, at the rate technology is moving, many of these features will be considered obsolete in 4-5 years, but if you have the coin – it pays to have the latest and greatest.
The beautiful Mercedes-AMG just became much more attractive.
Bloomberg reports that the 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT is 450 pounds lighter than the SLS AMG, and the European pricing makes us believe that U.S. price will be right around $100,000.
First, we know that the AMG GT’s chassis is composed of nearly all-aluminum, and the wheelbase is 6″ shorter than the SLS, and the AMG GT has also gone forward without the iconic gullwing doors of the SLS, resulting in almost the entire 440 lb weight loss that was predicted.
Bloomberg is also reporting the Mercedes-AMG GT’s European base price will be close 100,000 Euros. That’s $129,000, USD – but let’s look at comparable cars: For example, the Jaguar F-Type R’s European base price also happens to be 103,700 Euros. Yet, the Jaguar costs $99,000 in the United States.
Look at that butt.
U.S. citizens tend to get cars at a nice discount compared to the heavily-taxed Europeans, so it’s safe to assume the Mercedes will follow suit.
In the meantime, enjoy the eye candy below. The AMG GT is one beautiful car.
We like Tony Stewart, we really do. We are a fan of his talent, skill, determination and diverse racing background.
However, the video posted above is eye-opening – especially considering the recent events that Stewart has been involved in. If you skip to the 1:05 mark, you can see Stewart trying to squeeze his car in through the victory lane gate, and does not seem to notice or care about the spectator who was also walking through the gate. Stewart appears to slow his car just a little, then accelerates again – ‘gnudging’ the unknowing spectator with his 3,500 lb stock car.

We are still undecided in regards to his now infamous incident, but Ontario Co. Sheriff’s Office has concluded their investigation on behalf of Stewart:
“Statement from Ontario Co. Sheriff’s Office. Investigation complete ->
The Ontario County Office of Sheriff has completed its investigation into the death of Kevin A. Ward, Jr., which occurred August 9, 2014, at the Canandaigua, New York, Motorsports Park. The entire thorough investigation, including a forensic video enhancement recently received from the New York State Police Laboratory in Albany, has been submitted to the Office of the Ontario County District for review. The District Attorney’s Office, which has been meeting throughout the investigative process with members of the Sheriff’s Office, will make a statement late next week advising what action will be taken regarding the investigation.

Filming on “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” has been underway in Detroit for a while now without many details hitting the web.
Well, finally someone has found something black and stealthy on the set. Instagram user ‘amacro13’ took these pictures of what appears to be the Batmobile, parked in Detroit.
The new Batmobile seems to have a genetic connection to the original Tumbler, but it also borrows the longer, flatter look.
“Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” opens up in theaters March 25, 2016.
We admit, we first started watching ‘Roadkill’ right around the time they took an old 440 out of an old motorhome and stuffed into a 1968 Dodge Charger body. Watching how creative they were, and how they brought life back to a dead 68 Charger got us hooked on the show instantly.
In their latest endeavor, they take the now-famous Charger around a rally car course, and it really is as awesome as it sounds. You can skip straight to 26:00 if you want to eat the dessert first.
If your remember, the guys at ‘Roadkill’ actually filmed an episode where they detailed the process of bringing this Charger back from the grave:
Even as tired as that ‘ol 440 is, it still sings that unique Mopar song – and it is music to our ears.
Well, they claim it is a Moto GP bike, but it looks like a stock 1000cc CBR. Regardless, Casey Stoner is on the bike, Mark Webber is in the F1 car – and Jamie Whincup is in the Australian V8 Supercar.
The Tesla Model S is amazing. It’s revolutionary, it’s fast, beautiful, has alien technology, and it’s American. And now, Saleen has gotten their hands on one.
In a nutshell, the new Saleen Tesla Model S has more acceleration, 75 lbs less unsprung rotational mass, better aero, tighter suspension. Not earthshattering, but it sounds like some solid improvements were made.
This is the world’s meanest Tesla. We expect 0-60 times in the ballpark of 3.6 seconds, but a price tag that commands slightly over $150,000. Money well spent, in our opinion.
The video above is our first glimpse of the LT4 opening it’s lungs up in public. Only thing missing is a mild cam to stagger the idle a bit – but the high-revving sound coming from your speakers is unmistakeable Corvette, through and through.
We can’t wait for the 2015 LT4 Z06 to hit the streets – after all, the new C7Z is faster than the 2013 ZR1 Corvette, and the MSRP will be a bargain at around $78k. We expect to see these entry level supercars roaming the streets around January.
This is pretty terrifying video of a Porsche losing control right in front of a Megabusa at the ‘Ring. The Porsche makes pretty hard contact with the barrier, and just barely misses the Megabusa. Could have been much worst. The POV vehicle, a Hyabusa-engined Westfield ‘Megabusa’ – 1299cc; 500kg – looks like a ton of fun, but it is one of the last cars we would want to be in during an accident, especially considering how fast the Porsche was going.
Some interesting commentary regarding the incident:
“Porsches are famous for lift off oversteer. That corner is a long, really fast sweeper. Cammer was going about 120mph, so that Porsche could easily have been 150+. I’d be willing the Porsche driver realized how fast he was coming up on the other car and lifted up on the gas to slow down for a safer pass, causing him to spin.
As for performance. A Megabusa is running the engine out of a Hayabusa, which makes about 180hp. Doesn’t seem like much until you consider that car weighs less than 1000lbs. So the porsche would probably get smoked to 60, run a close quarter mile, and pretty well dominate from there on out since the motorcycle motor is going to struggle at high speeds under the added weight and worse aerodynamics of the car.”
Internet Sleuths have cracked the case again, this time the guys at 6G have found some interesting screenshots taken out of the Ford parts catalog – seemingly confirming the long-rumored 5.2l ‘Voodoo’ engine.
So, here is what we know about the 2016 SVT Mustang. It will be called the ‘GT350’, it will have a 5.2L V8 (project: Voodoo) – and that V8 will more than likely have a Flat Plane Crank. There is also evidence to suggest that the block itself will be forged, capable of handling over 1000+ Horsepower, from the factory.
We are expecting an official announcement with details on the new GT350 from Ford as soon as September, but we may know hear any (official) news until January.
