Motor Trend’s ‘Ignition’ makes us want a Hellcat Charger.

The 2015 Charger Hellcat.  The 707 HP, 206.9 MPH, Supercharged, Overweight, Earth-Rotating-Luxury Sedan – and we can’t get enough of it.

This car actually outperforms it’s (slightly) smaller sibling – the Challenger Hellcat – in both acceleration and top speed.  This car is also special because of the fact that Chrysler is no longer producing an SRT variant of the 300C, so the Charger takes it’s rightful place as America’s fastest full-size sedan.

We love this car.  We love it’s sleeper status, we love it’s subliminally-menacing demeanor, and we love that it significantly overpowers a vast majority of cars you will ever encounter on the road – all for $63,000 MSRP.

We’ll take two, in black.

This 2000WHP UGR Lamborghini Gallardo goes supersonic

0

Underground Racing (UGR) is known for turning Lamborghinis into time machines, and Jorje Martinovic’s Gallardo is no exception. Watch how this Lambo uses it’s ‘Time Warp’ function to absolutely obliterate a few 1000cc liter bikes on the freeway, including a BMW S1000RR.

We love how at the 1:33 mark – you can see the guy on the motorcycle shake his head in astonishment when the Gallardo floors it. That thing is an absolute beast.

McLaren P1 looks stunning in ‘Pacific Blue’ Pearlescent Paint

0

The McLaren P1 hypercar is as arguably the most exclusive car on the road, but wrapping it in Pearlescent vinyl puts it on a whole ‘nother level. Not a fan of the colors used in this wrap, it reminds of the Mystichrome / Mystic Cobras from ten years ago – not that it’s a bad thing, just doesn’t seem appropriate on a McLaren P1. Regardless, it is definitely unique.

Cops put end to Dodge Challenger Hellcat vs. Nissan GT-R freeway races (Video)

‘Fatt-catt’, as known on a few forums – is notorious for owning one nasty Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Multiple videos have surfaced in recent weeks of his Black Hellcat dominating other high-end cars on the freeway.

Earlier today, he ominously posted the following in a rebuttal towards a 2014 GT500 owner:

“So you are thinking now huh? I love how people hide behind a screen and criticize others. Did I not ask you to contact me directly? Why would I take someone serious in a thread on a forum? Come on man, be honest you don’t want to race, you want to talk about racing. yawn, you bore me. I will be out dragging half of Houston and racing a 2015 Lambo Aventador tonight while you play on the forum.

If you want to run the cars, please contact me we you want to run our cars. We can do it however you want, professional drivers and what not…. Don’t worry I still have the factory tires so no excuses. Up to you, just fyi I know of a stock GT500 in Houston. So this may happen without you anyway.”

Then several hours later, a video surfaced of ‘Fatt-Catt’ getting caught in the act by a Highway Patrol Officer on the freeway, immediately after walking a Nissan GT-R.

Fortunately for ‘Fatt-Catt’, it appears he only received tickets for stopping on freeway, and no front plate.

Nice pull on the GT-R, though.

Here are a few images of this notorious Black Hellcat Challenger:

Watch the Stig run a hotlap in the new Lamborghini Huracan

0

Top Gear has just released a new video of the Stig wrestling the new Lamborghini Huracan around the Top Gear test track, and it the car certainly looks like it is being pushed to it’s mechanical limit. And by the way; some of those cameraman are pretty brave standing that close to the track.

Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce (SV) caught completely undisguised

Untitled-2

Lamborghini didn’t want you to see these spy shots – well, not yet at least. Photographers caught this new hardcore Lamborghini Aventador SV – completely undisguised, and in full production trim.

The long-awaited SuperVeloce was recently caught stretching it’s legs on the roads of southern Europe. This means that the car’s world debut can’t be far from now, and we suspect a debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in early March.

Mysterious Aventador prototypes have been spotted testing in that area for the past couple of years, and this most recent test car appears to be sporting new vents, a massive rear spoiler and a very aggressive rear diffuser.

The SV treatment is just the sort of injection the Aventador needed. Check out the spy photos below:

Factory Stock Dodge Charger Hellcat breaks 206+ MPH (Video)

0

The Dodge Charger Hellcat is (arguably) the fastest production sedan in the world, and at 707 HP, this behemoth is capable of over 207 MPH. In fact, the video above shows the Dodge team taking the Charger Hellcat to maximum warp speed – and this luxury sedans actually tops out at 206.9 MPH at one end of the high speed oval. 206.9 MPH. We would take this car over a full-size AMG sedan, any day of the week. We especially admire the subdued demeanor of this Charger – as only other ‘car’ guys will recognize this car as the earth-rotators that it is out on the street. And the best part? This car can be owned for an impressive $65,000 MSRP.

We’ll take two, in black, please.

Heavyweight Title Fight: 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat takes on 2015 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Motor Trend’s ‘Head 2 Head’ showcases a heavyweight title fight: The 580 HP Camaro ZL1 vs the 707 HP SRT Hellcat.

These two straight-line land rocket ships are the top dogs in the Muscle Car world right now, and watching them square off against each other stirs up a sense of patriotism that we never knew we had.

“On this episode of Head 2 Head, Jonny Lieberman travels just over the Golden Gate Bridge to beautiful Marin County in two of the most powerful cars ever to roll out of American factories. Five years ago, the idea of a Chevy Camaro ZL1 with 580 horsepower would have seemed like nothing more than the bedroom poster fantasy of a 12-year-old. However, in 2015, 580 ponies seems like something’s wrong. That’s because the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat comes strapped with 707! Crazy, we know. However, the Hellcat is heavier than the already pretty large Camaro. Bigger, too. The question then is: which of these two steroidal pony cars should you get?”

NBC’s hilarious new NASCAR commercial, featuring Nick Offerman

NASCAR is certainly at a crossroads. Attendance and TV ratings are down, but the on track racing in 2014 was the best in years. Fresh for 2015, NBC Sports will step in and take over as the network provider for all NASCAR Sprint Cup races from the July Daytona race until the end of the season. NBC Sports will replace ESPN, and Fox Sports will continue to cover the first half of the season their respective network.

With all of that said, check out NBC Sport’s new NASCAR spot featuring Nick Offerman. This will play immediately after the Super Bowl this Sunday.

2015 Porsche Cayman GTS: Mid Engine Perfection & The Biggest Threat to the 911

Porsche could easily out perform the 911 with the Cayman, and that was true back when they first released it. That’s why they detuned the engine and made it a little softer.

They can’t have their middle of the line performance car beating their flagship performance car right out of the box.

Anyways, we know that 911s are good, but we find it a little hard to justify getting one that isn’t a Turbo, GT3, etc. Instead of one of the ‘normal’ 911s, I think we’d rather get an upper-level Cayman like this GTS or the last-gen R.

People would say ‘the only reason you buy a Boxster is because you can’t afford the 911,’ but it really seems like you can get a sharper, more focused upper-level Boxster or Cayman for the same money or less than a base 911, but we digress. Regardless, the 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS is a beautiful car.
