Well, it’s too bad the owner took this hypercar out on such a wet, rainy day – he wasn’t able to push the LaFerrari very hard. But, we commend his bravery for tracking the cars when so many other rare and unique exotics are sitting in their climate-controlled garages.
In any event, it makes for a great on-board video. Enjoy.
Today marks the 60th anniversary of the Chevy small block. To celebrate, check out this video of a timelapse video of a Chevy Small Block being rebuilt.
From the Hagerty description:
“The Chevy small-block V-8 is an engine that has touched so many lives that, no matter where your car brand loyalty lies, chances are good that you’ve got a personal story about one. It has powered tens of millions of passenger cars, trucks, race machines and boats. Calling it an American icon would not be an overstatement or hype. To celebrate 60 years of this icon, we took one apart and put it back together, and we recorded the process to share with you.”
Check out this fresh video from the EKanoo Racing camp of their twin-turbo Lexus IS-F completely lifting off the ground and over the fence during a pass.
Thankfully, the driver walked away without any serious injuries.
Here are some pictures of the EKR Lexus IS-F before the accident today:
Larry Dixon survived a nasty 300-MPH blowover crash today in Gainsville, FL during NHRA Qualifying yesterday.
When you’re going that fast all you need is a little bit of air to get underneath the car to pick you right up into the air (there’s a reason they call the people that drive them pilots).
Dragsters are especially vulnerable to this with how long and light the front of the cars are. From what I can tell by watching the video something allowed air to get underneath the middle of the nose lifting the car up into the air and breaking it in half.
I think something broke somewhere (maybe a chassis component or something I really have no idea) to set this whole crash in motion.
Well, that didn’t take long. We can’t wait to see what a few bolt-ons will do to awaken this earth-rotating monster.
705 Rear-wheel-horsepower equates to about 860 Crank HP, considering an 18% drivetrain loss.
By the way, what happened to all the nay-sayers who said the Hellcat ECU couldn’t be cracked?
From the tuner:
“Tuning this car was a true joy! The car was running about 12.7:1 AFR at the tailpipe before tuning with it commanding 12.05:1 so I knew there was a lot of room left performance wise. I got the AFR down to safer levels around 11.4:1 and adjusted many other parameters to get to the end result! It responded very well to the calibration. Up next…E85 ”

Here’s your chance to own a US-legal Ford Focus RS MkII, but it will cost you $75,000.
This may very well be the only road-legal Focus RS MkII in the United States – but Ford is about to reveal it’s next-gen 2016 Focus RS, and they will all be legal here, so you may want to keep your wallet shut, for now.
