So according to this video, this guy stole a new Lamborghini Huracan and met up with FattCatt (Hellcat Challenger) to do some heads up racing down in Mexico. Does a near-$300,000 Lamborghini walk the Hellcat? Does the ridiculously overpowered Challenger embarrass the Italian exotic? Watch and find out…
Chevrolet SS (LS3) battles Mustang GT (5.0 Coyote)
Mod list:
Chevrolet SS : Roto-Fab CAI, Stainless Works full exhaust, Livernois Cam and Tune.
Mustang 5.0 : Intake, Catback, Off Road Midpipe, Tune, DRs.
Chevrolet is doing it right. Where else can you purchase a full size sedan, with an LS3, and a manual transmission? Love the new SS.
Watch this Mustang Tire Explode on Dyno at 150MPH!
Wow, that poor 5.0 Mustang may be totaled. Watch the video above – this guy runs a 5.0 up well over 150 MPH, and the left-rear tire explodes, causing all kinds of damage. Very scary incident. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. Pretty amazing video. You can actually see the left-rear tire losing PSI right before it grenades.
Official: 2016 Ford Focus RS will have 350 HP, and an MSRP of $36,605, well equipped at $41,680
According to Ford’s website, the 350 HP Ford Focus RS will have a starting MSRP of $36,605, and a well-equipped Focus RS will send you well over the $40,000 mark.
This is the price point that we expected several months ago, and the pricing is competitive with the new Subaru STi.
Now that the 2016 Ford Focus RS pricing is official, here is what you need to know:
- Will be available in the United States
- 350-HP 2.3L GTDI EcoBoost
- Six-Speed Manual Transmission
- All Wheel Drive w/ Torque Vectoring
- 0-60 in under 4.5s
- A 2-Door version is possibly in the works
- $36,605 MSRP, will be upwards of $45,000 fully optioned.
Powered by the same 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo-four that you can find in the new Mustang, this motor is upgraded with a new low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger, larger compressor and intercooler, free-flowing intake, large-bore dual-pipe exhaust with electronically controlled valve and upgraded internal components.
The end result is a 6,500-RRPM redline, with an output of 350 HP – which is more than the EcoBoost Mustang and quite a bit more than the existing Focus ST.
The EcoBoost power is channeled to the pavement through a new racing-inspired all-wheel drive system that includes torque vectoring that actually sends as much as 70 percent of available torque to the rear wheels. The system works in conjuction with the brake-based torque vectoring system and stability control, and will even divert torque to the outside rear wheel when cornering to keep it flat and under control, all while reducing understeer.
Ford has also stuck with a conventional six-speed manual transmission in this pocket-rocket.
The team of Ford Performance engineers also addressed the suspension, which features stiffer spring rates, bushings and anti-roll bars than the Focus ST currently has, and is augmented by two-mode switchable dampers.
19-inch alloys wear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, with optional Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi-slicks for your track-days.
Inside the cockpit you’ll find upgrades such as Recaro buckets, a flat-bottomed steering wheel (as found in the new Shelby GT350), alloy pedals and auxiliary gauges for turbo boost, oil temperature and oil pressure.
Ford promises the new Focus RS will corner at over 1 g of lateral acceleration on the skidpad, and a 0-60 MPH time of ‘under 4.5 seconds’.
This new RS will have fierce competition from the new Mini JCW and more powerful versions of the VW Golf, Honda’s upcoming new Civic Type R and rival hot hatches from the likes of Seat and Renault that keep trading lap records at the Nürburgring, to say nothing of the Subaru WRX STI which it most closely resembles and may prove its closest rival.
For now, this new RS will be manufactured exclusively in Saarlouis, Germany – but this new hatch will be available globally (including the United States), joining a growing array of Ford Performance vehicles alongside the new Ford GT, Shelby GT350R and F150 Raptor revealed in Detroit several months ago.
By 2020, Ford promises to introduce a good dozen new performance models, and we’re looking forward to every one.
This guy deletes the Mufflers off of his Hellcat Charger, and it sounds amazing
Sinister_Hellcat recently removed the mufflers off of his Hellcat Charger and then immediately went for a spirited drive. Fortunately for us, he attached a GoPro to himself to simulate a POV driving experience.
The Hellcat sounds amazing. Enjoy.
This is why the Chevrolet LS Motor is so amazing.
GM’s LS-based motor is legendary. It’s light, it’s affordable, and it makes big power. And as the video above shows us, there is even more to the LS motor than we realize. From the Cam core size to the heads, the LS seems to do everything right. This is a very insightful video from NRE (Nelson Racing Engines).
Enjoy.
Watch the 2015 Corvette Z06 embarrass itself at Laguna Seca during a Motor Trend hot lap competition
The problems continue for GM’s Corvette Z06. Like most overall #1 Draft Picks in the NFL, the hyped-up 2015 Z06 just doesn’t live up to expectations.
Earlier this year, we speculated on an poorly programmed ECU as the culprit for some of the C7 Z06’s overheating issues, and GM has been in damage control mode ever since.
Unfortunately for GM, just this last week Motor Trend conducted their annual ‘Best Driver’s Car’ competition, and the new Z06 went out on Laguna Seca to lay down a hot lap – and all it laid down was an egg.
It appears that the new Z06 is still suffering from overheating issues, presumably related to the ECU (see above).
We actually are fans the C7 Z06, and are curious to see how it performs when running at full power. Even if GM fixes this issue soon, the damage has already been done in the eyes of many car enthusiasts.
For reference, here are some other cars that competed in this years Best Driver’s Car competition:

This is the episode we have all been waiting for! Watch the Roadkill crew as they dismantle a 2015 Hellcat Charger, and install the entire drive train into the ’68 Charger (General Mayhem). Then they take the old Charger to the track and run it through it’s paces. This only scratches the surface of this project. Enjoy the video above!
See and hear 10 minutes of the Ferrari FXX K tearing it up at Spa.
Watch this fresh video from Spa and listen to the explosive downshifts of the new Ferrari FXX K Hypercar Racecar. This car sounds absolutely angry, and carries a ridiculous amount of speed through Eau Rouge. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the FXX K.
