The 2018 Shelby GT500 will finally make it’s debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month. The NAIAS, which runs January 8 – January 20, 2017, will also debut the next-gen ZR1 Corvette.

Sources close to Ford claim that the next-gen GT500 will be running an “all-aluminum body, with carbon composite integration, along with active aero” (active aero? GT500? Yes, please). We are also anticipating a 10-speed automatic transmission option, but that has not been confirmed. Further, we are hearing conflicting powerplant rumors. Some sources are claiming a Twin Turbo 5.0 V8, others are claiming a Forced Induction 5.2 FPC motor, which is fine with us.

We will keep this article updated as the news continues to come in.
