The 2016 ACR Viper has already cracked off a ridiculously-fast 7:01.67 lap at the Nurburgring, and the SRT team pulled off this feat back in early October of 2015.
Per our source, the SRT team arrived at the track ‘unofficially’ and largely presented themselves as private owners of the 2016 ACR Viper.
If true, a 7:01.67 lap time is over 10 seconds faster then the previous generation ACR. 10 seconds. If Viper production really is going to end in 2017, then the guys at SRT are giving their legendary snake a proper send-off.
For reference, here is a video from 2011 of veteran GT driver Dominik Farnbacher wrestling the last-generation Viper ACR to a 7:12.130 hotlap at the Nurburgring.
